From the website www.ropeofsilicon.com:
"Michelle Williams has been flirting with a second Oscar nomination for some time now and while a lot of people are talking about her performance in Blue Valentine this year I think they're forgetting about how great she was in Shutter Island. While she's looking like a dark horse for this year's Oscar, perhaps a performance as Marilyn Monroe will be enough to earn her a slot among 2011's Oscar Elite."
Wouldn't it be ironic if Williams were to win the highest honor for acting for her portrayal of Monroe, the same award that forever eluded Marilyn? Marilyn won numerous awards in the US for acting, but was never nominated for an Oscar. France and Italy recognized Marilyn's Acting skills and awarded her their equivalent of the Oscar, but sadly she never received this same level of respect in her home country.
