Joshua Winslow Groban was born February 27, 1981. He is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, actor, and musician. Most famous for the hit single You Raise Me Up, his second album Closer was released in 2004. Groban has also starred in a number of minor TV roles, such as in the show Ally McBeal.

Josh Groban originally studied acting but as his voice changed, it developed into a "significant instrument". Josh Groban has a story as compelling and real as you are likely to hear in the world of pop or classical music.

In late 1998, the 17-year-old Groban was introduced by his vocal coach to Grammy-winning producer/arranger David Foster. Incredibly, David was enlisting Groban to fill-in at the 1999 Grammy rehearsals for Bocelli, who wasn't able to make the practice session.
